Beautiful but Heavy  
When you look at the picture provided it does not do this step stool justice. It is beautiful.
I purchased this for my walk-in closet and its a shame to hide it. This looks like a rich piece of furniture. This stool can be displayed in any room including a living room as a plant stand. Its doesnt seem right to step on it.

I find that it is some what heavy. This is not a problem if you are not moving it from room to room. : 2010-09-15 03:59:54

Great stool  
This step stool had no assembly. The color is a very dark mahogamy I think it looks lighter in the picture. I was glad for this because my kitchen is "cranberry" and I was afraid it would look like I was trying to match but missed. Instead it looks almost black with a reddish tint next to my cabinets. I wanted something that would look like furniture because I wanted to leave it out so that it is available when I need it and this stool was perfect for that it is very pretty. The biggest draw back and why I rated it a four star is that it is heavy and awkward to move although that may be impossible to avoid for something this size. : 2010-09-15 03:59:54

Nice Heavy Step Stool  
I bought this step stool to help my daughter climb up into her loft bed. It fits flush against the bed and is very sturdy. I know some people said that it was hard to open and it was the first time but now it is easy to open after using it a couple of times. I really love this step stool and would definitely purchase it again. : 2010-09-15 03:59:54

Some information in earlier reviews seems inaccurate  
I got my Cosco wood step stool in the mail a few days ago and immediately realized that some of the problems identified by other reviewers were not in fact problems. I dont know if those reviewers were mistaken or if Cosco has improved this product but here goes:

1. Assembly? No. The step stool arrived in a flat box folded but completely assembled. I didnt have to do anything but set it up.
2. Unsightly stickers? No. There were only two stickers both VERY small and neither on the flat surface of a step. One was on the button you push to fold the stool identifying the button: useful. The other was the standard warning label that seems to come on every ladder: it was slender on the edge of the top step. I havent tried to remove either of them I admit because they dont bother me.
3. Weight? No big deal. Yes it weighs something: it is after all a small ladder and it wouldnt be safe if it were too light. But Im a Frail and Delicate Flower (tm) and I d : 2010-09-15 03:59:54
